The App collects your device's location, including background location, to support the core alivecheck functionality. Specifically:

• Your last known location is recorded when you perform a check-in.
• Background location may be accessed to detect inactivity and trigger alerts to your designated Guardian contacts.
• Location data is used solely for safety and alivecheck purposes and is never sold or shared with third parties for advertising.

Account Information

When you register, we collect your name, email address, and phone number to create and manage your account.

Usage Data

We collect anonymized data about how you use the App (e.g., check-in frequency, feature usage) to improve the service.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To provide the alivecheck and Guardian notification features.
• To send alerts to your designated Guardian contacts when a check-in is missed.
• To maintain and improve the App.
• To communicate with you regarding your account or the service.

3. Sharing of Information

We do not sell your personal data. We may share data only in the following circumstances:

• Guardian contacts: Your last check-in location and status are shared with contacts you explicitly designate as Guardians.
• Service providers: We use trusted third-party services (e.g., Firebase, RevenueCat) to operate the App. These providers process data only on our behalf.
• Legal requirements: We may disclose data if required by law.

4. Background Location — Prominent Disclosure

LastWish accesses your device location in the background to monitor check-in activity even when the App is not open. This is a core feature of the alivecheck system — without background location access, the App cannot reliably detect missed check-ins and notify your Guardians. You will be asked to grant this permission explicitly within the App, and you may revoke it at any time through your device settings.

5. Data Retention

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. You may request deletion of your data at any time by contacting us.

6. Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.

7. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any significant changes through the App or via email.
